Dark charcoal broken lines handwoven cushion
Dark charcoal broken lines handwoven cushion
Woven from merino wool with the addition of alpaca bouclé patterning this cushion is highly tactile and snuggly.
It is part of my evolving ‘Op art’ collection which takes inspiration from the abstract, geometric and often monochrome work of the 20th century art movement. The nature of the bouclé yarn means that the broken lines all look a little different giving a sense of movement and vibration, key features of this type of art.
The hand weaving process is a great example of slow textiles and the journey from design to selecting colours, preparing the loom, weaving, washing and then sewing means that each piece takes more than two days to make. Each stage is done by hand which also means that each one is unique. All you need to do is enjoy it and follow the simple care advice so that it can adorn your favourite chair or sofa for many years.
Material: 90% merino wool with 10% alpaca mix bouclé yarn, sourced from a mill in Yorkshire, filled with a duck feather, cotton covered cushion insert.
Dimensions: approx. 50x50cm
